The problem
People seeking affordable housing needed a clearer way to identify certified developments. The relevant information existed across government data and institutional processes, but was not organized around a resident's search.
The solution
Our team researched the problem with the City of Miami and local community organizations. We used the city's open data to assemble an initial dataset, then built a Rails API and React front end for a searchable, map-based prototype.
We also gave the City of Miami's Office of Innovation guidance on how a custom solution could scale and integrate with its existing technology environment.
Impact
The work translated public data into a resident-centered product concept and gave the city a tangible prototype and implementation direction. No usage or outcome metrics are available.
